Gata salva bebé de morrer ao frio

Pic shows: The abandoned baby.nnA long-haired tabby cat has become a local hero after finding an abandoned baby on the street and climbing into the box he had been dumped in to keep him warm.nnAnd the moggy rescuer also raised the alarm by calling out to draw attention to the fact that the baby had been left on the street in Russia.nnLocal resident Irina Lavrova, 68, had gone to throw out some rubbish when she heard Masha the moggy mewing loudly near the apartment block bins in the city of Obninsk in western Russia.nnGoing over to see if the cat was in difficulty the stunned pensioner could not believe her eyes when she saw the baby boy lying amongst the trash in a box with Masha next to him.nnShe said: "Masha is a communal cat who everyone takes turns in looking after.nn"She is very placid and friendly so when I heard her mewing I thought that perhaps she had injured herself because normally she would have come and said hello to me.nn"You can imagine my shock when I saw her lying in a box next to a baby.nn"Clearly her mothering instincts had taken over and she wanted to protect the child.nn"He was well-dressed with a little hat and whoever left him here had even left a few nappies and some baby food."nnAfter calling an ambulance the three-month-old toddler was taken to hospital where he was given a check up and declared fit and healthy.nnA hospital spokesman said: "The baby had only been outside for a few hours and thanks to Masha and the child  s clothing he was not damaged by the experience."nnNow local residents have hailed Masha as a proper hero.nnOAP Irina said: "Everyone in the block is very proud of her and we have all spoilt her rotten by giving her her favourite food."nnA police spokesman said they were looking into the case and would try and find the baby  s mother.nn(ends)    n

Os cães são, normalmente, os animais mais associados a casos de lealdade e de salvamento mas esta gata veio ‘dar a volta ao texto’.

Na Rússia, uma gata encontrou um bebé abandonado na rua, na cidade de Obninsk, com temperaturas negativas.

Masha entrou para a caixa onde o bebé estava para o manter quente e começou a miar, explica o Metro.

Irina Lavrova, de 68 anos, saiu de casa para deitar fora o lixo e ouviu o animal. Achando que a gata estava em dificuldades, aproximou-se dos caixotes do lixo e, para seu espanto, encontrou um menino deitado dentro de uma caixa, com a gata ao seu lado.

“Toda a gente aqui no bairro conhece e cuida da Masha. Pode imaginar o meu choque quando a vi deitada ao lado do bebé”, referiu a senhora, acrescentando que foi “claramente o instinto maternal” da gata que a levou a proteger o menino.

O bebé, com cerca de três meses, foi encontrado vestido, com fraldas limpas ao seu lado e ainda comida de bebé. Foi em seguida, levado para o hospital para ser observado e está bem de saúde.
